Finally, finally, finally! Tomorrow is election day! Whoo!
I don't know if I'm happier because I get to vote in a general election for the first time, or because we'll finally be done with this whole stupid contention and fear-mongering. Either way, I'm excited!
I still don't know who to vote for. Living in Utah, it's a foregone conclusion that McCain will win here, but I still take my vote seriously enough that I want to make an informed decision for who I think will be best.
Unfortunately, as with every election, it's all about picking the lesser of two evils-mostly because we have to pick a human being for president. As it is though, I don't feel good enough about either McCain or Obama. McCain has proven to be too impulsive during this election (can anyone say Palin!?), but Obama has proven to be too eager to please, so to speak. He's promising so much, and I can't help but wonder how he's going to deliver.
I look at the two candidates, and I see less mistakes, errors, and controversies around Obama. At the same time, though, he's had far less time than McCain to make mistakes and stoke controversy. McCain would be comforting with all the experience he brings to bear, but he is also seems brows-deep in the mire of Washington. Plus, he could keel over at any minute and leave Palin in charge, who has far less experience than Obama. If Obama leaves office for one reason or another, Biden is, at the very least, not a wild card. We know him as much as we can know any other career politician.
I don't think I'll know who to vote for until I'm actually in the pollbox. I've jokingly told people that I'm going to write in Olene Walker, former governor of Utah. I'm starting to think that might not be as much of a joke as I thought.
At the end of the day, though, I just hope that the election goes smoothly and uneventfully and that people will accept the winner in good humor and with a drive to forge ahead and fix our country. In the end, no matter who lives in the White House, that's all we can hope to do.

Lo que sea para atraer la atención, ¿no?
Oye, es «Casa ESPACIO Blanca». No hay que ver en Casablanca. Bueno, miento, hay una mezquita estupenda.
Hoy es...¿domingo? Sí, domingo. Hoy perdí tiempo y gasolina conduciendo en el cañón Big Cottonwood porque estaba aburrido. El otoño ha llegado-todos los álamos se están convirtiendo en fuegos artificiales lentos y fantásticos, y el aire es fresco y vigorizante. Conducí hasta el final del camino, pensando en la naturaleza y los árboles y los biciclistas. Entonces me di la vuelta y sólo pensé en no chocar con las paredes rocosas del cañón sin frenar demasiado. Deseo ser más audaz, porque el camino es montaña rusa a 50 mph.
Bueno. Ahora mismo estoy en casa, porque la gasolina es cara y hoy toda la familia celebramos el cumpleaños de mi madre y mi hermana, que nacieron el mismo día, 22 de setiembre. Casualmente, es también el cumpleaños de Bilbo y Frodo Bolsón. Jaja.
Tengo que limpiar el piso de la concina, pues mi hermana lo ha suciado cocinado su propio pastel. Digo, su segundo pastel, porque el primero explotó. De verdad. Explotó en el horno. A ella no le gusta los pasteles de la caja, pero ningún de los hombres saben cómo cocinar desde cero, así que tiene que hacerlo ella misma.
Hoy vendrán Abuela, hermano, cuñada, sobrina, y tíos. Cuidé a mi sobrina el viernes pasado, y cuando mi hermano llegó de trabajo, me dijo que iba a llevarla a un juego de fútbol. Me gustaría oír cómo un bebé de tres meses disfruta el fútbol...
Tengo un examen mañana en chino, y no he estudiado. Me maravillo de mi propia estupidez.
Mi portátil sigue en reparación. Nunca me he dado cuenta cuánto me encanta tener mi propio portátil, porque cuando lo tengo en mi cuarto mis padres no comprenden cuanto tiempo llevo nevagando el internet. Pero sí lo comprenden cuando estoy usando el portátil de mi madre unas diez o once horas al día. O sea, diez o once horas al día libre. Tengo mis clases cuatro días a la semana, y los martes y los jueves estoy en la universidad hasta las siete y media. La segunda semana de octubre voy a trabajar a tiempo parcial...bueno, son excusas, y pobres. Tengo que practicar el dibujo más a menudo.
Es la vida ahora mismo. Qué chiste.
